The Garden Huntress

The Garden Huntress

The Garden Huntress

She roams the gardens,
Stalking shade and sunlight,
And errant blades of grass,
Playing noncommitally with lizards and lady bugs,
Drinking delicately from flower pots,
Instead of lovingly placed fresh water.
She mocks her dogs,
Reigning just out of reach,
Sure of her powers
To tantalize and evade.
Her white whiskers twitching in disdain,
The queen of all she surveys.
