The season’s change
Framed in sunroom windows,
A surprise guest at a Southern soirée,
Color and light burnished,
Summer draws its curtains closed,
Sighing away its carefree days,
Blustery winds blow
Fall’s seductive kiss.
An aerial ballet of reds and golds,
Pirouetting down to weave a carpet below.
Fireplaces flicker warmly,
Contemplation, remembrance, gratitude,
My heart overflowing
With fall’s bountiful gifts.
