Ancient Forgiveness

I look to the heavens,

The clouds a riot of white in the blue sky,

Some sort of aerial Morse Code,

Perhaps a message to an angry world,

An ancient forgiveness in an endless cycle of flawed humanity.

An opportunity to seek the wise and the beautiful,

To begin a revolution of change

In which neighbor helps neighbor

And differences make us stronger.

A divide spanned,

A message of love,

Of peace,

One that needs no interpreter,

No great prophet,

Only understanding and compassion

And a willingness to reach across the yawning abyss,

Where instead of differences, we end up finding ourselves.
