Spring has Sprung

I returned home from a trip to find that Spring had sprung.

Suddenly, the bare trees had burst forth in verdant song.

The Red Bud trees added their rich counterpoint of pink effulgence to the Bartlette Pear’s clouds of white.

The birds serenade their welcome, a wonderful cacophony of the most joyous hallelujah chorus.

My heart swells to bear witness to the birth of another Spring,

Anticipation of the beauty to come,

To thoughts of my hands in the soil,

The sun warm on my face,

As Mother Earth wakes from her long winter slumber,

The age-old promise of hope fulfilled yet again.
