Time Traveler

Oh, to be a time traveler,

With the ability to go back and feel a cherished  embrace,

To right a wrong,

To feel that first blush of love.

To see a long-missed face once again,

Stroking the curve of a cheek that I only feel now in distant memory.

To go forward in time to see the fruit of my life,

To see myself as an old woman,

Finally making  peace with myself,

Knowing I lived the best life that I could.

But I know better,

The gift comes from living in the present,

Remembering the past with gratitude,

Feeling hope for the future,

But living deeply in the rawness of now,

Every heartbreakingly beautiful moment of it.
