I Bend, but I do not Break

I dreamt that I was a wise old oak tree,

My gnarled bark and tangled limbs reaching to the sky,

My canopy of leaves sheltering those underneath.

A knowing came to me,

Bubbling up from some spring deep within-

I had weathered so many storms,

The winds forceful and angry,

But they did not break me,

No once.

A lesson in strength that rises up in times of need to remind me-

I bend, but I do not break.
